Caurette was founded in 2016 by Jean-Christophe Caurette who was in dire need of inspiration for a name, thus the eponymous debut of his publishing house.<\/h2>\n

Caurette publishes art books<\/strong> by illustrators and contemporary painters, producing collections of graphic novels and illustrated books <\/strong>for both adults and children. The projects we develop are diverse, either originals, reprintings or translations of foreign publications.<\/h2>\n

And because we love opening the doors to art book heaven, we import from all over the world, mostly exclusively, many illustrated art books which you will find on our online shop, LiberDistri<\/a>.<\/h2>\n

As of February 2024, Caurette’s coterie of staff is composed of 12 employees (sipping cocktails all day long) and 2 interns who do all the work.<\/h2>\n<\/div>

Born in 1970, Jean-Christophe Caurette grew up reading Ast\u00e9rix, Tintin, Lucky Luke and Gaston Lagaffe. Les Oiseaux du Ma\u00eetre<\/em> by Christin and M\u00e9zi\u00e8res is also a part of that list, but that is a story for another time.<\/h2>\n

After studying business, he worked for Microsoft for two years before leaving to produce corporate movies for the next twenty years.<\/h2>\n

He met world-famous Korean illustrator Kim Jung Gi in 2012 and “accidentaly” became his agent leading him to establish his own publishing house four years later.<\/h2>\n

He likes chestnut cream, hiking, Mercurey wine, Burma and publishing books.<\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
