The project
The Sun Room is a 5.8 x 8.15 inches (14,7 x 20,7 cm) clothbound book, same size as Beatrice Blueâs sketchbook!
To make it extra special, we chose to have a cloth cover with hot stamping that will be beautifully protected by a colour dust jacket!
The design of the cover and dust jacket are complementary and present two different stage of the same illustration: just the outline stamped on the cover, and the final design printed on the dust jacket.
Inside, you will see 224 pages of art printed on a very fine Munken Pure Rough 150g paper giving you the feeling of turning her sketchbook pages! Last but not least, Pascal Campion wrote a foreword, and we cannot be happier!

This book was the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter from October 3 to November 3, 2024.
Beatrice Blue’s word
My name is Beatrice Blue, I am an author, illustrator and art director working both in books and animated films.
I am the creator of a critically acclaimed children books ongoing series, that includes âOnce upon a Dragonâs fireâ, âOnce upon a Mermaidâs tailâ, âOnce Upon a Witchâs Broomâ and âOnce Upon a Unicorn Hornâ.
I also published âWonder, the art and practice of Beatrice Blueâ presenting my different creative process, and worked as the Art Director for the recently released series âWolfboy and the Everything Factoryâ for Apple TV+.During my career Iâve been lucky to have worked with wonderful companies such as Dreamworks Animation, Disney, Hasbro, Procreate, Nickelodeon, Netflix, PRH, Harper Collins and so many amazing others in fantastic projects.After a few years of creating personal pieces outside of work, exclusively in traditional media, Iâve teamed up with Caurette to bring these out into the world and in your hands in the shape of a book.
âThe Sun Roomâ is very special to me. It carries all my most valued and beloved paintings and sketches, gouache landscapes and characters, pencil drawings and sometimes notes; things I thought Iâd honestly never share.
Itâs a selection of the pieces that have brought me the most joy and have made grow the most as an artist during the last years. Something extra special about this book is that weâve decided to make it in the same exact size as my actual sketchbook; the one I carry everywhere.
This way, Iâm hoping to be able to share these works in their truest form with you.I am very happy to work hand in hand with Editions Caurette, a French publishing house known for their beautiful art book collection.
