Artificial “Intelligences” ?!?!

Firstly, let’s be clear: “Artificial Intelligence” has no more intelligence than a cactus. The term “assisted plagiarism” is much closer to the truth.

This plagiarism represents everything I hate. It’s probably a fun tool, but it is to creation what a video game is to real life. Just because a player has reached level 256 in a fighting game doesn’t mean he has the slightest gift for fighting in real life.

I could go on and on, but I just want to say to those who love our books that at Caurette, you won’t find ANY work made, even partially, with generative software. Behind our books are authors. PEOPLE. Who have spent years struggling to get where they are. And don’t think that, even for the most gifted of them, it’s easy. Sure, they’ve acquired technique, know-how, reflexes and facilities, but the act of creation itself has nothing to do with that.
All this to say that I, and all the editions Caurette, formally undertake NOT to publish images generated artificially by software. In fact, we’ve even included this in our contracts since 2023.
