Paisley Rabbit and the Treehouse Contest
Steve RICHARDSON et Christopher DUNN
Teamwork, ingenuity and generosity…
Can a lone girl rabbit with all the odds stacked against her actually surprise boastful Jimmy Squirrel to win the big tree house construction contest?
It is the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year, Jimmy Squirrel, whose dad owns the biggest construction company in the city, agrees to a tree house contest. To everyoneâs surprise, Paisley Rabbit, who has never touched a hammer or a nail and has no one to help her, is a long shot to win. But the imaginative and determined Paisley, demonstrates her resourcefulness and strategic planning abilities that eventually amazes her friends and silences the smug Jimmy Squirrel.
Chris Dunn’s phenomenal talent exquisitely complements this delightful tale of defying the odds and believing in yourself, proving that imagination, cooperation, and compassion will always win the odds.
And critics agree, because Paisley Rabbit and the Treehouse Contest is the recipient of two well-deserved awards: Book of the Year (Creative Child Magazine) and Best Picture Book (Indie Book Awards).

âIn this album, you’ll find the old-fashioned charm of a Beatrix Potter! A story that makes us melt.â
âThis album is sure to be a dream come true for little tree house lovers… My 6-year-old fox immediately asked us to build a tree house in one of the trees in our garden! â
âThis is one of my favorites of the year, and undeniably one of the most beautiful books in our library.
I love everything about this album; it’s absolutely perfect, both aesthetically and in terms of the values it conveys. I really loved reading it with my 6-year-old son, a special moment we shared (the text was too long for his little sister), a rich, sensitive and optimistic read.â

âThe story is full of love, gentleness and kindness…. It’s a little gem, a concentrate of tenderness that warms the heart and soul…
A huge favorite….â
âStop! Stop everything! I’ve got my favorite book of the spring: a particularly touching and moving literary nugget. My grown-up and I read it over two evenings. We enjoyed every word, a sublime text, a tender and caring story that calls for kindness and solidarity. â
